About USAA Car Insurance

USAA provides insurance for cars, recreational vehicles, motorcycles, boats, and commercial driving vehicles. If you have a pilot’s license, USAA even offers aviation insurance. They also provide rideshare insurance for Uber and Lyft drivers.  Most policies come with the option to add coverage, such as rental car reimbursement and roadside assistance.

USAA stands out among other insurance providers as they offer accident forgiveness for first-time accidents when you are at fault. To qualify, you need to be accident-free for five years before the collision. Traditionally, your rates will skyrocket following an accident. With USAA’s car accident forgiveness program, your rates stay the same following a qualified accident.

Many states require motorists to have $25,000 in bodily injury coverage, $15,000 in property damage, and $3,000 in personal injury protection.

These policies offer between $50,000 and $100,000 of coverage for bodily injury, uninsured driver bodily injury liability, and underinsured driver bodily injury liability. Additional coverage, including roadside assistance and extra medical assistance, can be added for an extra cost.

High insurance plans offer between $100,000 and $300,000 of coverage for bodily injury, uninsured driver bodily injury, and underinsured motorist bodily injury liability. Members can choose whether they want a $100,000 or $300,000 coverage limit, which is often dictated by the value of the vehicle they own.

Please keep in mind these coverage levels may depend on the state in which you live.
